New Series: Novelette is Trying

Synopsis: After she is dumped by her partner, a queer, anti-social Black woman is forced to take on a quirky roommate, which forces her to confront the lack of purpose, love and connection in her life.

Novelette is Trying is a refreshing addition to OUTtv’s programming lineup, marking a significant milestone in representation as it is created by and starring Black queer creators. This compelling series follows the life of Nicolette, a vibrant and unique character who navigates the challenges of modern life and relationships in Vancouver. The creators and cast have masterfully crafted a narrative that resonates with authenticity and depth, making “Nicolette is Trying” a must-watch for those seeking diverse and meaningful storytelling in television.

New Series: Settle Down

New Interviews and Talent Watchlists

OUTtv is shining a spotlight on trailblazing Black queer creators, including directors, writers, and actors who’ve made a huge impact on LGBTQ+ media. These interviews are super candid, giving us a glimpse into their journeys and creative processes. They show us the challenges and triumphs of being Black and queer in the entertainment industry. As part of this campaign, OUTtv is teaming up with Black LGBTQ+ creators and performers to create exclusive watchlists of their favorite films, series, and documentaries. You’ll find recommendations from icons like Bob the Drag Queen, Peppermint, and other influential figures. They’re highlighting the shows that have inspired them and shaped their careers.
