The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) originated in 2004 when activists gathered in Montreal to commemorate the anniversary of the World Health Organization’s decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. This event sparked a global movement to address discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ individuals, culminating in the first IDAHOBIT observed on May 17, 2005. Here at OUTtv, we stand in solidarity with the community on this important day and continue to highlight the stories of LGBTQ+ activism.

OUTtv has long been a trailblazer in LGBTQ+ representation, offering a platform for diverse voices and stories within the community. Through our programming, we have been able to educate and inspire viewers about LGBTQ+ issues and activism. Many of the documentaries featured on OUTtv dive deep into the lives of activists who are fighting for equal rights, challenging stereotypes, and advocating for positive change. By showcasing these stories, we shine a light on the resilience and determination of those who are at the forefront of the LGBTQ+ rights movement.
