If you’re looking for a spooky new binge with a glamorous twist, Drag in the Dark on OUTtv might be your next obsession. The new series dares to blend drag and the paranormal, and it’s already turning heads and raising goosebumps. We caught up with legendary drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finalist Divina De Campo to talk about her experience filming the show, her thoughts on the supernatural, and which queen she’d haunt if given the chance.

For readers who haven’t tuned in yet, what’s "Drag in the Dark" all about, and how did you get involved?

It’s all about the supernatural. Drag queens in spaces that are famously haunted. It’s very much about capturing our real reactions. I mean, we’re not known for being subtle! I  was absolutely petrified. The place just had this vibe…totally fine during the day, but once it got dark… it was another story.

Are you someone who’s always believed in ghosts, or are you more of a skeptic?

I grew up in a big, creepy old house where strange things happened all the time—things moving on their own, strange noises. But I’m also one of seven kids, so you never know if it was a ghost or just one of them messing about. I’d say I’ve experienced things rather than just believed in them.

Without spoiling too much, what was the scariest moment for you while filming?

There was a moment when we went upstairs and I had this awful sensation that something was lurking in the corner. I froze. It felt really malevolent, like it didn’t want us there.

Did your drag persona help you face that fear at all?

Not really! Normally, once I’m in drag, I feel invincible. It’s like armor. But in this situation, I felt very exposed, even with a full crew around. It was unnerving.

If you had to choose one drag queen to bring with you to the next haunted house, who would it be?

Bianca Del Rio. She’d scare the ghosts away faster than they could haunt us. She’s fearless and funny. I’d be hiding behind her the whole time.

And if you could haunt any drag queen?

Lady Bunny. She’s halfway to the afterlife anyway, isn’t she? It would be hilarious.

Drag in the Dark is now streaming on OUTtv and OUTflix with new episodes every Tuesday. Don’t miss Divina and other queens as they face their fears and the unknown in this hauntingly entertaining new series. The first episode is available for free on YouTube at the link below.
