Translation is an unscripted talk series unlike any other and Jiggly Caliente shared all the deets on the new season! Check out the interview below.
Tell us all about the show for those who missed the first season?
Translation is a show that talk about topics of trans lives by trans women of different walks of life that share a common bond by walking through magical pink doors.
As the creator of the show, how did the show come to be?
It came about because I originally wanted to share my journey to the world. Then realized it was more self serving and I didn’t want that. I wanted to know and reach more. So I thought about a talk show with other voices and opinions to share our stories.
What’s special about this new season?
I think we came back with stronger opinions and growth in our careers and lives that make for the better new season.
What’s changed for you since filming season one in your career?
Being that I’m in now in my 40s I’m definitely in a different path in life and my career. My POV in life has changed as well. I’m definitely in a different groove.
If the show had guest stars, who would you want to see on the show?
I’d love to interview Angelica Ross, Laverne Cox, Schuyler Basilar and many more.
As the creator of the show are you the one that comes up with the questions and topics? If not, who decides?
No absolutely not . I put in my opinions on topics but we do have writers and of course the other ladies get to pour into the creative pot as well. I’m only a piece of this machine.
Are there any other specific topics you would like to discuss on a future season?
I would like to talk more about dating while trans and survival sex work. I think television has glamorized it and I think while there has been better safer ways now, I want people to understand that it does come with dangerous situations and not just the SVU kinda stuff .
Why is this show so important to you?
Its important because representation matters. While the world is trying to hold our community back and silence our voices with their prehistoric legislation and politics, We are showing the world and universe that we aren’t going to stay silent and will be vigilant to be heard.
